School fees Category 3
Information
We remind you the decisions on school fees for category 3 pupils taken at the meeting of the Board of Governors of 25/26 October 2005 (Doc. 2005-D-36)and of 14 Decembre 2012 (Doc. 201-12-M-2/KK).
When a pupil is first enrolled in a European School, parents who are required to pay school fees shall undertake to pay the sums owed within the time period set by the School.
An advance payment amounting to 25% of the school fees set by the Board of Governors for the relevant teaching level for the coming school year shall be paid by 30 June of the current year.
Where the school fees fixed are still outstanding or have not been paid in full at the end of a school year, the pupil in question shall be deemed by the School to have been struck off the roll and will no longer be admitted to the European Schools as from the beginning of the following school year.
For students newly enrolled in category III starting the 2013/2014 school year, for whom school fees are payable in one or more European Schools at the same time, shall be entitled to a family-related reduction in the school fees set by the Board of Governors.
In such cases:
- the full amount of the fees corresponding to the teaching level shall be payable for the first child (= the one who has progressed furthest in his/her school career)
- 50% of the fees corresponding to the teaching level shall be payable for the second child
- 25% of the fees corresponding to the teaching level shall be payable for the third and each subsequent child
Irrespective of the fees applicable to the teaching level, the minimum amount may not be less than 50% of the fees charged for the nursery.
Category 3 families who have enrolled two or more children since 1st September 2013, for whom school fees are payable in one or more European Schools at the same time, shall be entitled to a family-related reduction in the school fees set by the Board of Governors.
In such cases:
- the full amount of the fees corresponding to the teaching level shall be payable for the first child (= the one who has progressed furthest in his/her school career)
- 80% of the fees corresponding to the teaching level shall be payable for the second child
- 60% of the fees corresponding to the teaching level shall be payable for the third and each subsequent child
Irrespective of the fees applicable to the teaching level, the minimum amount may not be less than 60% of the fees charged for the nursery.
The payment of school fees in instalments is allowed.
Please fill in the ONLINE form you will find on our website between June 1th and September 10th of each year for the following school year.
The dates on which payment is due will be communicated by the School.
The payment of the first instalment of 25% by 30 June is an essential prerequisite for a new enrolment to take effect or for a previous enrolment to continue (DOC 2005-D-36).

Exemptions
The Board of Governors have decided that the Board of Administration may grant a partial exemption from payment of school fees for social cases and whereas it is justified.
Please fill in the ONLINE form you will find on our website between June 15th and September 15th of each year for the following school year.
The ISEE (Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente) document have to be attached to the application for exemption.
Furthermore, the School wishes to remind parents that, where pupils in Category 3 are admitted or leave during the course of school year, the school fees will be fixed as following table. Fees for other items (photocopies, insurance, lockers) will be paid in full.
